Okay so this is entirely based on what you've told me and I haven't seen the development behind it, so feel free to 'splain ('cause that's partly why I'm bringing it up, since I've found it's better to say something and get an explanation than just let it sit around and fester in a swamp of assumptions).

But!

It seems that your Link is too easily influenced by other people?

You talk a lot about how he's been enabled to do things--like drinking--by his friends, but, and this might boil down to interpretation, I don't see him being that easily swayed, especially not into habits that are unhealthy for him. It's like how you pointed out my app was very "beginning of the game" Zelda; I feel like that's more of a beginning-of-the-game Link rather than the Link at the end of the game. He'd have a stronger sense of self, I think--

I think what I'm trying to say is, he'd be more disciplined and have a stronger sense of self that doesn't rely so much on what other people encourage him to do.

Your Link voice is great otherwise, but I guess I'd just like to see more of that strong, confident person he was at the end of the game.

Thank you so much for these compliments and comments. I'll keep doing my best with him! He's a difficult little shit, but I really do love playing him. (Because of all of those faults!) I really don't want to woobify him, and I know that's a common concern, but sometimes I worry that I might stray too far the other way. So, it's good to hear that he seems balanced.

I'm going to do some tagging out with him today! He needs some new threads in addition to the fantastic old ones!

It would be, if I didn't have to be at work in like, an hour. Whoops.

But don't you want to remember the Defining Moment of his life?! That wonderful moment where he decided he was going to become Batman! But yeah, editorial is really iffy these days and I shudder to think what goes on behind closed doors at DC now that we've gotten a peek at it from Perez and Rozum. They should just hire a bunch of fans to be the editors. Or, at least as fact-checkers. Let them do the dirty work and tell the writers and editorial that this isn't IC, the eye color isn't right, etc. etc. I'll do that for minimum wage, even!

I usually will say read everything because she is unfortunately that sort of character! She's always been known as DC's greatest minor character and most of her solos have been really iffy (in that they were used to facilitate self-insert boyfriends/love interests from the writers). I am not a huge fan of Dini's writing of her and find he focuses too much on quipping and banter and being a creepy sleazeball, but I did like his Detective Comics runs with her in addition to his 2001 Vertigo special (which I'd pirate because $25 for a prestige is steep unless you have an addiction like I do). Dini's solo title exists solely to make me angry and for icons :')

But yeah, most of her stuff is a lot of background or a few pages here and there up until maybe the past six years? She doesn't have a lot of lengthy appearances, but they all fit together nicely. What you get is like in Superman/Batman, but then she shuffles off again to do off-screen junk. I think a lot of the Identity Crisis tie-ins were worthwhile despite the subject it ties into. I'm a particular fan of Rucka's, since he basically entirely avoids the quipping. Morrison's Seven Soldiers is also an excellent starter and Sook's art is sort of in that in between phase here, where he's shifting from a more Mignola style to coming into his own (also the colorist was awful), but it's definitely worth a read. My favorite recent issue is Brave and the Bold v2 #33, featuring her and Diana and Babs. I ignore the last few pages and Oracle talk for obvious reasons. (I actually recommend almost the entirety of this series; somewhere around I think issue #12? That's when Perez goes off and is replaced with better artists. I think it has some really great mash-ups, my favorites being GL + Dr. Fate & Phantom Stranger + GL!)

Uhhh. Sorry for the TL;DRing. What I have on my computer is mostly for quick reference, since I own almost her entire canon and quick-pulls do tend to be like "these six pages in Justice League from 1998 were great!!" or whatever. I do recommend JLA overall, especially Bronze/Copper age. I don't talk about JLDetroit.

It's a relief someone thinks he does sound distinct, though! I have to admit I worry a little about him being generic, since there are so damn many Eds around.

(AND ALSO I wanted to crit Locke since I know you were looking for it, but it's been way too long since I last replayed FF6 and all I can say is you've nailed him ._. I mean, I could see him getting more proactively involved in gamewide stuff like the political situation, but he is relatively new and that's not really HMD-worthy...)

You play a great Leo, but you really need to buck up your activity with him I think you've posted all of once since I've joined the game months ago.

As someone who'd love to have my character interact with yours it's quite frustrating.

I like your Mitsuru those rare times I've seen her, but your uncertainty over what to do with her and with her voice seem to have led you to never tagging around with her. In fact - and I may be wrong, because I don't read every single log and every single entry - I haven't actually seen her anywhere in weeks. Mitsuru may be reserved and certainly isn't the sort to go tagging absolutely everything but she still should have some presence, especially giving her commanding nature and desire to be in control of things.

I think part of the reason why you don't know what to do with her might be that you haven't done anything with her, if that makes any sense. Sometimes it takes some experimentation and going out on a limb to figure out the best path for a character in a game, but you can't do any of that if you don't tag and try to get the character involved with things you think the character might get involved in. And also, follow through a little - don't just stop after a few rounds of comments. Keep going and see where the threads might lead.

In Mitsuru's case, there are plenty of things she could reasonably be expected to be involved in, such as exploring the strange city that appears in the Gemini district during the 13th hour, assisting the NPC scientists and her father in research about this place, seeking to continue her education at the local university, and of course she has several friends here already that she can spend time with and theoretically should be talking to regularly, even if it's only to tell Akihiko not to injure himself being reckless. She's got loads of opportunities here! Maybe too many, since it might be hard to pick out which ones you want to pursue, but that's where CR and seeing what directions castmates are going might help. For example, not too long ago, Minako was proposing reforming SEES for the purpose of exploring the place that appears in Gemini - maybe Mitsuru wants that too? Or maybe she wants to focus on working with her father? I'm sure the mods would be more than happy to give you suggestions and help figure out her placement if you were to tell them you wanted to get her involved in the research side. Maybe she might even work as a liaison between the scientists and others. She knows how to disseminate information and to organize and command, after all.

And in terms of things you started to do with her, well... I think following through might help you find a sense of place, too. For example, a while ago on that apartment introduction log, you had an apartment entry here, but you never continued any of the threads past the first few tags. Places like that offer a great opportunity for building some new CR and expanding on existing CR to see what direction it's likely to head, which can also help you in figuring out what to do with a character.

Don't worry about how late a tag is. Plenty of people are more than willing to backtag for quite some time. And also don't worry too much about her voice - her tags have read ICly to me.

So really, my advice comes down to the following: get Mitsuru involved in things and follow through on your threads, even if you wind up tagging slowly.
