  ☑ HOW'S MY DRIVING MEME

All of us have those moments where we are uncertain about our characterization. Sometimes feedback is the best medicine! So, step on up and post your roleplay accounts and the games you have them in. Let others come by and tell you how you're doing and let others know what you think! Give legitimate reasons and not just "I love you!" Save that for our monthly love memes.

If there are any problems, please report them HERE and we will take care of it as soon as we can.

!PLEASE READ: There have been instances of anon bullying & threats in both the HMD and Love memes, so we wanted to stress how important it is that you bring this to us if it happens. Don't ignore something just because you think it's "too small" to bring to us.

Also, please be considerate of the players browsing this meme! Try to limit the amount of graphics and sparkle texts you use while commenting to others!

My muselist

I'd really love some criticism. I know I had a falling out in October, but I'm picking myself up from that.

Your Daring Do is a lot of fun to bounce off of, although if I had to give crit it would probably be this;

Because you play so many characters in so many games, you don't have the focus (you can't with this many) to infuse each incarnation with an engaging personality. Daring is a character with lots of shenanigans potential in a game like GB, full of stuff to discover (and she even has her sidekick Dash to help), but your replies sometimes come off as generic, which isn't a fault of your writing, simply a matter of being stretched too thin.

Unless you're like, Kubo Tite (and even then), you cannot keep track of every individual character's feelings and experiences at each specific game, because that would mean keeping not just each separate muse but multiple versions of some muses, with entirely different memories and feelings and casts. Maybe you've just been too nice to turn down people who ask you to play in another game with them, but you're playing in ten roleplays, Riki, and you just can't develop characters over that many settings.

I can only comment on Daring and Twilight personally, since I haven't played with anyone else you have, but sometimes they feel somewhat restricted to their base canon personality/traits. Dash has been in GB for something like 6 months now, and she's gotten to know a bunch of people here-- I especially loved playing her off characters who would be the most confused by a talking blue pegasus. She's also competitive, which is another angle I can throw at people.

Daring has a ton of potential for CR-- she's basically Pony Lara Croft! I think it would actually add a lot more "life" to your threads with her if you tried to write her in a British voice, even just mentally. Or make her like Indie, or one of the adventurers she's clearly inspired by. You're one of the very few Daring players out there, which gives you more opportunities to make her your own.

anyway tl;dr i really do love chatting with you and playing off of you but i'd love to see you when you're really invested in a game, instead of ten games with each holding a small percentage of your attention and CR.

...yeah, you're pretty much spot on with this. Even I've noticed that I have trouble saying no to people then I kinda got clingy from there. It's a mess. For things to be sane again, I'll probably have to go through another round of cuts and drops, which will essentially be one of those "ripping off the band-aid" deals. If I could somehow trim it to 4 or 5 then things will likely be more in my favor, but that's a lot harder than it sounds. Mayfield is ending soon, but to be fair, I haven't posted there in so long, it doesn't really matter too much.

As for Daring...yeah, I can understand that. I should probably replay some Tomb Raider games or watch the Indy movies so I can get a little more character going for her.

With your tagging speed, I think you seriously need to drop to about three or four games. I seem to get about one tag a week from you and it gets seriously hard to thread anything. I mean, there are slow tags but honestly, this moves into the 'We can't get anything done' territory.

This is something I don't think you can recover from and more of something that is just simply out of your limits.

This is sadly territory I didn't want to cross, but I've done so anyway. I've tried telling myself that I can handle being so involved in so many places, but I've learned that I can't do that. To get back to a regular flow of RP I can be accustomed to, one where I can do tags that won't keep people waiting anywhere near a week, three or four sounds like a good range.

In the meantime, I want to apologize for making you wait so long for tags. I've kept a lot of people waiting that long, so I'm sorry to everyone I've kept waiting for tags. If our game ends up on my drop list, then I apologize for wasting your time.

I do, however, want to thank you for being honest with me; as much as they hurt, reality checks get me moving towards doing something right. In the games I end up keeping, I'll work for my tag speed to not be anything as slow as they've been recently. I'm finally aware of my limits and know not to reach beyond them.
