☑ HOW'S MY DRIVING MEME

All of us have those moments where we are uncertain about our characterization. Sometimes feedback is the best medicine! So, step on up and post your roleplay accounts and the games you have them in. Let others come by and tell you how you're doing and let others know what you think! Give legitimate reasons and not just "I love you!" Save that for our monthly love memes.

First of all, anon thank you for being so honest with me about this problem. I was under the impression that I was balancing my games just fine. At times (meaning this week) I've taken a little longer to tag because of what's been going on but I've never missed a castmates post or a castmate involved plotline.

i also go out of my way to tag one person i don't know yet that's out of canon every time i do my round of tags for that evening.

i've never once, as you put it, made the "bare minimum," in any game. if i were apping for that i'd have no problem dropping out. i never allow myself to simply idle out and have in every comm of every game i'm in tracked the posts for activity requirements as well as the ooc mod posts. i was under the impression that my CR was meaingful.

i'm sorry you don't feel the same but i'm going to have to respectfully disagree with your concrit until such times as when i fail to meet activity requirements and cast involvement or actually stop back tagging threads until they're complete; even while on valid hiatuses.

that being said, because this issue has been brought to light i'm going to work on getting more characters out there a little more. i think that some reason for you feeling this way about me and my characters is because none of them are the type to frequent posting on any network routinely.

Dean's pretty inexperienced and tends to stick to friends and family anyway, Cas doesn't care, Alec would rather things be face to face unless specified otherwise (he would use the network for bartering but there's only so many times he can do that before it's boring), Leeloo isn't a big talker, and Max as friendly as she isn't really accustomed to sharing her feelings over that open of a venue. I tag around with all of them and post them all as much as is canonically reasonable.

if, after all this, you still think i'm character squatting then i'm sorry. we must have very different ideas of what RP is and what it should be. i'll admit to the past two months being slower from me than they ever were before but there are valid RL things that lead in and are keeping the slower interaction necessary.

Months ago when I played with you, you had a problem with thread dropping on a fairly consistent basis across different characters. Maybe you've improved since then but I wouldn't dismiss this crit completely out of hand without taking a closer look at your tagging habits. I noticed you said you make efforts not to drop castmate threads. Don't forget your cross-canon CR, too. Dropping threads with them isn't any more acceptable when it happens a lot.

It wasn't a dismissal. I'm going to drop at least one game (maybe two) and work on keeping up consistent tags even though I might not entirely agree.

As far as the thread dropping goes... was this in game? Because I usually never drop threads. I'll tag them until the bitter end.

Occasionally when my character has nothing else to say I don't have them reply because it'd be ooc for them to press on even though they're done with the discussion. I don't know if it's ever been misinterpreted for thread dropping and if it has I should probably clarify.

I'm really sorry that this is a problem at all. I hate when people do it to me. So regardless of not being aware... because obviously I'm not!! I will work on keeping up with all of my CR and completing threads. I'm sorry I ever did this to either of you. :(

This is something I'm gonna keep in mind for future tagging, threads, and all of my CR.

Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Also, I'm exhausted so hopefully this made sense. :x

Edit: Also, both of you, never be afraid to contact me when it comes to tags hanging there waiting to be replied to. Sometimes I just get carried away with RL stuff and need a nudge in the right direction!

Respectfully, you really aren't balancing as well as you think you are. When you find yourself dreading getting tag-backs and boomerangs or whatever and you constantly have an enormous backlog of tags, and huge difficulty doing cross-canon CR, then you have too much on your plate. You're fun to play with, but you are in too many games. RP is more rewarding when you have the energy to do more than the bare minimum, trust me on that one.

I figured that one out. At least now and with the way you put it, it makes a lot more sense.

I really appreciate hearing it from all of you. I mean that. Even if I seem disoriented and a little confused. Partly that's because I'm tired and the rest is because I really WAS oblivious.

I just dropped two of my games and one additional character in a game I'm sticking with.

I might wind up dropping more characters elsewhere if they can't get settled but I'm still gonna give em a shot now that I've lightened my load.
